Chemo Hair loss can occur 2 to 3 weeks after you start treatment. Hair loss is temporary and your hair should start to re-grow after 4 weeks of your last treatment. Many of our clients tell us, this can be the most traumatic part of their cancer diagnosis. We are here to support you from diagnosis to finding a suitable wig.

Where possible, we encourage clients to come and see us before you start treatment. This will allow us to see how your own hair looks and allow sufficient time to customise a wig for you to replicate the way your own hair is. For clients who are too unwell to visit our Dublin wig studio, home or hospital consultation can also be arranged.

Alopecia is a very common autoimmune condition that causes hair loss. It can affect both men and women. Alopecia occurs in many forms; the most common types are Alopecia Aretha (partial or complete hair loss) and Androgenetic Alopecia (pattern hair loss). Some other forms of Alopecia are Postpartum Alopecia, which can affect women after giving birth, and Alopecia Universalis, which is hair loss throughout the body.

Our wigs and partial hair pieces are cleverly created to camouflage hair loss. Each wig is custom made with real hair to give the most natural look and feel.

Many of our clients experiencing thinning hair come to us because we help them maintain their own look. Some clients with thinning hair may need a full wig, while others will only require a topper hair piece or a volumiser to give the added volume needed. Each topper hair piece is customised for you to disguise the hair loss and give you the added volume you need.

Trichotillomania is an impulse control disorder that involves strong urges to pull out one’s own hair. This can be hair on one’s head, eyelashes, eyebrows or other body hairs. Trichotillomania can lead to visible hair loss.

A wig or partial hair piece can cover the hair loss. If the hair loss is minimal, we can create a custom partial hair piece for you. If you experience more extensive hair loss, we can create a custom wig for you to resemble your original hair style and colour.
