Eyelashes for Alopecia

When you just want to feel normal; to look in the mirror and recognize yourself again, a good set of lashes can make all the difference. However, fake lashes are not always the easiest skill to master. With sticky glue, to chunky eyeliner it is enough to overwhelm the newly lash-less woman! Kate-Leigh and Ariel got together on our Instagram Live to talk all things lashes and below are some of their best tips and tricks.

Magnetic Lashes

Have you ever dabbled in magnetic lashes? They have become all the rage these days with new brands popping up like wildfire. It can be hard to know where to start. Kate-leigh has found some great magnetic lashes on Amazon. She recommends starting with a base of eyeshadow to set the eyeliner and lashes. Then she applies a stunning cat eye to enhance the lashes. Felt tip eyeliners are a great place to start for first time liquid liner users. They are soft and gentle on sensitive skin, and easier to apply than the liquid and brush liners. On top of the liner is where Kate-Leigh applies the magnetic liner that the lashes will stick to. Creating this base of shadow and liner gives the magnetic liner something to stick to for all day lashes. Then, for the best part, you simply bring the lashes close to the liner and they pop right on. These lashes are some of the easiest to install. Drugstore Glue on Lash

Next up Ariel gave us a tutorial of her everyday lash look. She begins by finding a simple wispy lash that can be found at the local pharmacy. For comfort and a natural looking lash look for a thin line at the base. The next trick of the trade is finding a liquid glue with a brush applicator. Duo has been a great brand for Ariel and the brush applicator comes with the glue. In order to ensure the lashes stay secure for the whole day, apply the glue to the lash and to your eyelid. With glue sticking to glue the lashes should stay secure, especially at the corners. Once the lashes are stuck on you can easily go in with a liner and fill in any gaps where the lash may not have gone on perfectly. This is also a great way to disguise a crooked lash. Don’t worry if the application doesn’t happen seamlessly. It takes practise and there is a lot you can do with good eye liners. Skip to 19:00 on our instagram live to watch this.

Bottom Lashes

If you find yourself missing bottom lashes Ariel has found a way to mimic the look of bottom lashes. She uses a brush-application-liner and carefully draws on thin lines along the outside corner of the bottom lid. This is a simple way to get a more textured lash look for the bottom lids. C-Lash

Eyelashes For Alopecia | C-Lash By Eyelure

Kate-Leigh introduced us to the C-Lash. This company was started by Codila Gapare who started her lash range after loosing her own lashes due to chemotherapy treatment. She wanted to deal with cancer on her own terms so she designed the C-lash specifically for those with no lashes. They come with a clear adhesive band with a perfect curve to fit comfortably to your eyelid. Kate-Leigh has found if you add extra glue to the band they are even more secure for full day wear. You can also easily add liner to the top once they are applied to achieve a natural look. If you often find yourself frustrated when applying lashes this is the best place to start. You can find C-Lash by Eylure online. Skip to 9:14 on our instagram live to see this.
