Jo’s Top Ten Wigs | @Baldmothertucker

Our wonderful friend Jo @baldmothertucker on instagram is a Wig Expert!
She has sampled wigs from all of the best brands, and in this blog she tells us her top ten wigs.
Hi, I’m Jo and here are my Top 10….
The caveat being that I can’t actually choose an absolute favourite, as that is like choosing your favourite child!
I love all of these, and beyond. For different reasons, because the styles offer something different depending on length or fibre.
On paper, it’s not my bag. But in the flesh I love it. Great cut. Modern and flattering. But no monofilament top or lace front. Which traditionally is not my thing. But somehow this works. Plus it has silicone strips inside. So perfect for total hair loss and provides extra security!
#9 Euro Carrie by Jon Renau in 12fs8
I love Euro Carrie! The hair denier is fine, it’s silky.
Easier to style than other Human Hair I own. Air dries nicely in waves.
Light, hand tied cap. Lace front. Worth the investment.
#8 Rich Mono by Ellen Wille in Pearl Blonde Rooted
I love this style as a hybrid Bob – Pixie. It has a modern haircut with an asymmetrical fringe and a tight nape. It is very easy to wear, and modern enough to suit most ages.
#7 Lucy by Jon Renau in Martini
I love this colour so much, as it’s so light the hairline is perfect! Lucy is a great length. The top features are no friction rubbing, loose waves, lace front and hand tied. Lucy is a bit of a winner.
#6 Ryder by the Rene of Paris Amore Collection in Marble Brown
A double monofilament for comfort and disguising knots. Natural movement – not poker straight – and a fringe
#5 Rachel by Jon Renau in Flurry
There is no wonder why Rachel is so popular. Everyone loves Rachel. I’ve had several. Made with a hand tied cap, lace front, synthetic fibres and a wavy style. Bonus: she is easy to care for. She has beautiful boho beach waves…. I could go on!
#4 Affair by Ellen Wille in Sandy Blonde
A synthetic fibre, but it has natural movement – not poker straight. I find this style really easy to wear. The hairline is great, and I can just throw on and still feel glamorous.
#3 Jamilla Plus Wig by Ellen Wille in Light Honey Rooted
Shoulder length loose curls with layers to frame the face. A gorgeous curly synthetic wig. It also features PU in the base for additional hold and a snug fit.
#2 Tatum by the Rene of Paris Amore Collection in Creamy Blonde
Wildly underrated, yet the still popular Tatum. Double monofilament top, meaning extra comfort against the skin and discrete knots. Wefted sides and back – plus low density. I have cut about 4 inches off mine as I love the blunt cut Bob.
#1 Penelope by the Jon Renau Professional Collection in Palm Springs Blonde
I love Penelope. She’s so easy. Made with remy human hair that air dries with a beautiful soft wave, which enables me to just put it on without heavy styling. This certainly adds to the appeal!
Hopefully you have found a few wigs to add to your wish list! If you have any specific questions about these wigs you can always schedule a virtual consolation with Jo.
